14. Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Technical Safeguards
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between the Bondvia app and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption at rest: Data stored in Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage is encrypted at rest using AES-256, managed by Google Cloud.
- Authentication: Access to user accounts is protected by Firebase Authentication. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.
- Server-side access controls: Firebase Security Rules restrict data access so users can only read and write their own records. Administrative access requires multi-factor authentication.
- Content moderation: Bondvia's block-before-upload system means that content flagged by on-device Google ML Kit analysis never reaches our servers, reducing the volume of sensitive data we store.
Organizational Safeguards
- Access to personal data is limited to personnel who require it to operate and maintain the Bondvia service.
- We conduct periodic security reviews of our Firebase configuration and access rules.
- We rely on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, which maintains SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other relevant certifications. Details are available at cloud.google.com/security.
Data Breach Response
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you without undue delay, and where required by applicable law (including GDPR Article 33/34), notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
Limitations
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons.
How We Notify You
- Material changes: For any change that materially affects how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will provide prominent notice through the Bondvia app (e.g., an in-app notification or a prompt to review the updated policy before continued use) and update the "Effective" date at the top of this page.
- Minor changes: For non-material updates (such as clarifications, corrections, or changes to contact details), we will update the effective date without separate in-app notification.
- GDPR users: Where required under GDPR, we will seek fresh consent if a material change affects the legal basis under which we process your personal data.
Your Continued Use
After notice of a material change, your continued use of Bondvia constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the app and may request deletion of your account in accordance with Section 7 of this policy.
