Bondvia — Child Safety Standards
Child Safety Policy
Bondvia maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any content that exploits, harms, or endangers minors. This page documents our comprehensive child safety standards in full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.
Age Requirement & Enforcement
During the signup flow, every user is required to enter their date of birth using a scroll-picker. The system calculates the user’s age from the entered birthdate. If the user is under 18 years of age, they are immediately blocked from proceeding and cannot create an account. This check applies to both Google Login and Guest Login flows.
The signup screen displays the legal confirmation: “By logging in or registering, you confirm that you are 18 years old and agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.”
Play Age Signals API — 2026 Age Verification
The Play Age Signals API supplements our existing birthdate verification at registration. It is not a replacement for it — both checks operate independently and together provide stronger age enforcement.
- Purpose: Provides age signals from Google Play to help enforce our 18+ access control at the time of account access.
- What it does: The API signals whether a user meets the 18+ age threshold based on Google account data held by Google Play.
- What it does NOT do: Does NOT reveal the user’s actual age, date of birth, or any personal information to Bondvia.
- Data handling: Age signals are NOT stored by Bondvia beyond the verification event. Used only at time of account access. Processed on Google’s infrastructure under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Relationship to birthdate check: Supplements our birthdate verification at registration — both layers apply independently.
- Data governance: Signals are provided by Google and processed per Google’s Privacy Policy.
Three-Layer Child Protection System
Bondvia operates a comprehensive, multi-layer child protection system. Each layer is independent and provides overlapping coverage to ensure maximum protection.
- ML Kit Face Detection — verifies a valid face is present in profile photos. Images without a face are rejected.
- ML Kit Pose Detection — detects body landmark patterns. Flags suspicious body-focused images even without a face visible.
- ML Kit Image Labeling — identifies body-related content labels including Skin, Abdomen, Chest, and Human Body. Catches nudity both WITH and WITHOUT a face visible in the image.
- Skin Pixel Ratio Analysis — measures skin-tone pixel percentage using RGB and YCbCr rules. Threshold: 35% for Google Login users; 30% (stricter) for Guest Login users.
- Retroactive photo blurring — existing photos detected as inappropriate are automatically blurred in-app for all other users and scheduled for removal.
- Live video monitoring — during video calls, ML Kit monitors face visibility in real time. If a user’s face disappears from frame, the video feed is automatically blurred for the other user.
- Underage — flagged as highest priority; triggers immediate moderator review
- Child abuse — flagged as highest priority; triggers immediate review and law enforcement escalation if applicable
- Sexual or pornography content
- Hate speech
- Violent or cruel content
- Spam or rumours
- Harmful speech
- Content removal — remove specific photo, message, or profile content
- Account warning — formal notice sent to the user
- Temporary suspension — restrict account access for a defined period
- Permanent ban — irreversible account termination
- Escalation to law enforcement — for child safety and serious criminal concerns
